Today, the Institute of European Studies of Macau (IEEM) launches the Academy of International Investment and Trade Law, which will take place at the Cultural Center until July 18. The Academy is an intensive program on international investment and trade legal regulations. Throughout the training program, participants are required to take four compulsory courses on international investment law, trade law and on dispute settlement mechanisms for both trade and investment practices. Scholars and experts from different countries have been invited to lead the course. Professor Francis Snyder, from the London School of Economics, and Peter van den Bossche, a member of the appellate body of the World Trade Organization (WTO), are some of the invited scholars. Addressing mostly legal professionals, academics, researchers and those working in other related fields, the intensive program aims to enhance attendees’ knowledge of the fundamental principles and operations of WTO, whilst analyzing the conflicts in trade between nations and investors against the state. copyright@MACAU DAILY TIMES
